Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Initial work was called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4which draws influences from electronic, hip-hop, and rock. Her lyrics frequently address the themes of science fiction and feminists. Five studio albums were released by her. Grimes was born in Vancouver in the early 1990s, before she moved to Montreal in 2000. Grimes started releasing her music in solo fashion during the 2000s. There were albums out by Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa in 2010. In 2012, Visions the third album she released on her studio. She signed with 4AD. Visions has two singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" which was recognized with"Oblivion" with the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. The album followed this and her album with her band, Art Angels, was released in 2015 , and was met with the acclaim of critics, with several publications having named it the best album of 2015. Sixteen years later, her fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene, was launched in the year 2020. In addition to music, Grimes had a voice character in the 2020 gaming action Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the popular music competition game series Alter Ego.
